“Be the CEO of your life” is often used as a metaphor to encourage you to be more strategic about your life.   It often involves introspection to find a vision and direction of where you’re headed in the future.  In going through this process, you may find yourself asking tough existential questions like these:-Where do

The One Simple Daily Writing Habit that Changed my Life Completely

When building habits, it helps to know what kind of game you’re playing. Habit building for success (in business or to earn money, for example) usually takes a completely different path to habits for skill growth and improvement. Confusing one with the other may lead to unrealistic expectations and cause you to lose focus right at the

The Law of Disproportionate Results vs The Law of Diminishing Returns

No matter how hard you try to maintain consistent positive habits day in day out, there’ll come a time where life throws something at you and you get off track, it’s inevitable. I’ve been known to lose my way for months on end before working my way back into a positive program. When you’re in a slump,

The Single Best way to Bust through a Productivity Rut

I’ve had people ask me why I’m trying to build meditation as a consistent habit in my life and I’ve found it a difficult question to answer in a way that the other person can resonate with.   I often see eyes glaze over as I describe concepts such as the transient nature of thought, understanding

Why Meditate? What will you get out of it?

Here we have a classic from Dale Carnegie. I remember reading this for the first time when I was 18, immediately after reading his other renowned work “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. At the time I thought both books were wonderful and really helped me to get over anxiety and social issues that I had

How to Stop Worrying and Start Living (Book Notes)

Imagine having worked your whole life, prudently saving as much money as you can in order to retire comfortably, and then one day without notice 47.5% of all your bank deposits above a certain threshold vanished. Gone, just like that.  No way of getting it back.   Your retirement money that you’d spent the last two decades

Monthly Review: February, 2019

In terms of work productivity, this has been a really good month. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had.

I’ve managed to get through and take notes on 7 books while doing at least 2 hours of focused work per day. This has resulted in me creating 33 specifications documents for my team.
